WHO IS JOHNNY SCOVILLE?
My name is Johnny Scoville, and I'm a chili head. That's been my simple truth since the day I bit into my first pepper — a pepperoncini — and something lit up inside me. One bite, and I was hooked for life.
I started Chase The Heat on YouTube for one reason: I wanted a place where anyone could love peppers without the noise. A family-friendly community built on passion, not profanity. I never wanted my kids to hear something they couldn't un-hear — so I built the channel I wished already existed.
Today, over 150,000 of you ride with us. We eat the hottest peppers on earth together. We suffer through the cap cramps, the firehose, the Naga claw — and we laugh through all of it.
You might know me from the Hulu series Superhot: The Spicy World of Pepper People, where I went on the ultimate quest: find a pepper hotter than the Carolina Reaper. Spoiler alert — we found it.
The Wall Street Journal called me the "Chili Kingmaker." People throw words like that around or Icon or Legend. I'm just Johnny. A Chili head
Because at the end of the day, I'm not here for titles. I'm here for the pepper. I'm here for YOU — the community that makes all of this worth doing.
WHAT DOES "CHASE THE HEAT" MEAN?
I spent years chasing something that was destroying me. Then someone reached into the hole and pulled me out. I traded one chase for another. Now I chase peppers instead of demons, and I've never looked back.
But here's the thing I need you to hear: you don't have to eat a Carolina Reaper to be a chili head. If a jalapeño lights you up and you love it — you're one of us. If you've never eaten a hot pepper in your life but you love watching people do it — you're a chili head by proxy. A chili head is passion. Pure and simple.
